Star Systems
Inner Systems/Core Worlds: Neckron,Cephedri
Outskirt Systems: Ibsunk, Wanduk,
Uncolonized Systems: Assendofnowhere?
IBSUNK: Binary Star System.
Although an official part of the Union, this system has rarely been visited by anything but smugglers and people running from
Union Authority. Most planets are chunks of ice. The only one vaguely interesting is Ibsunk Prime, an ice chunk with oxygen
atmosphere. There was a small colony there once, making the system part of the Union, but that Colony was long abandoned
since a cosmic storm raged over the planet and killed everybody with intense radiation.
Ibsunk Stars: Alpha Star: Size: Small, Age: Old, Color: Orange, Luminosity: Average
The alpha star was the original star of the system. However through freak anomalies and gravitational shifts, part of its fuel and fusion power was drained away and formed a new star. Now they are orbitting each other.
Beta Star: Size: Small, Age: Average, Color, Yellow, Luminosity: Dim
Ibsunk I: Ibsunk prime is a partially frozen planet with an oxygen atmosphere.
Beneath the upper crust of ice is the core of rock hidden. The conditions on the planet are relatively mild, despite the intricately rilled and barren wastelands that cover most of the planet. Indiginous life is rare, and only the most resilient of creatures would ever survive there. Once there was a colony on the planet, drilling for minerals and high energy containing ores. However a cosmic storm beamed the planet with intense alpha radiation, causing all people to be killed. The alpha radiation dispersed quickly, but the planet was never recolonized.
Ibsunk II: A medium sized ball of ice with a hydrogen atmosphere.
The surface of the planet is covered with seemingly bottomless ice canyons, dug out by unknown erosion. Conditions on the planet are mild, meaning that if you can seek shelter from the high velocity blizzards, you'll be fine. In the ice there are many precious minerals hidden, and some scientists assume that a difference in mineral concentrations combined with the high velocity winds, eroded the endless canyons.
Ibsunk III: A small ball of ice and a Carbon Dioxide atmosphere.
The CO2 and water based ice is an incredible breeding ground for the planet's main characteristic. Entire ocean clusters of microbiotic life forms, covering a great part of the planet and even dwelling within it. Highly agressive these microbiotic lifeforms produce chemicals lethal to men, and thus the conditions on the planet are far from pleasant. Few is known about
the natural resources of the planet, due to the fact the downsides clearly outweighed the potential bright sides
Ibsunk IV The only none ice ball into the system.
Too far from the nearest Jump point to be really interesting for exploitation. Ibsunk IV is a huge ball of CO2 gas. It's atmosphere isn't very savage but is a thick soup of minerals, microbiotic lifeforms and high energy ores making it a very unpleasant place to be or even research. Below the gassy surface however is quite an oddity. Strange mountain ranges have
been showing up around the core, hundreds of kilometers below the surface. Indicating that there may be some sort of solid core.
Ibsunk IV is the location of the Orbital Station into which the adventures will begin!
CORE SYSTEMS: Neckron/Cephedri
Neckron System: The most advanced system in both technology and "civilisation"
Neckron Star: A Medium sized ancient red star with average luminocity
Neckron I: A huge planet of rock with an oxygen/nitrogen based atmosphere, ideal for life as this system knows it.
It is an incredible rich planet both in industry and in pleasantry. The Cradle of Men, it is also called at times as the Human race here was born according to most scientists. It has periodic atmospheric burnoffs, but it is not harmful to the population
Scientist even believe that the spark of life was triggered due to the radiation consequences. Now it is one of the richest and most advanced planets in the known universe and seat of the Union Assembly
Neckron II: A huge ball of Hydrogen gas.
The gas giant is rather unpleasant as it has a strong gravitational pull. The more religious of the Union believe, as did almost all races that were native to this sytem, that the planet was the home of gods. More down to Terra scientists believe that ancient cultures once lived inside the nebula, but that they were destroyed. Regardless, every year, countless of religious pilgrims come to pay homage to the dead gods in Orbital Stations, and ask the Oracle for advice.
Neckron III: An average rock based planet with a hydrogen based atmosphere.
Due to the pressure and solar radiation, the hydrogen gas is more stable than in most cases. This is the "least" civilised colony into the system There is a large amount of Corumdum deposits, a rare mineral. One of the richest mining colonies is built on the planet, along with a terraforming plant to make the planet capable of sustaining human life. A small city is built there with all modern technology to sustain the workers, engineers and their families. Most mining is done by robots, so there is no harsh condition here such as in many of the outskirt mines
Neckron IV: A tiny rock planet with an oxygen/nitrogen based atmosphere.
The planet is the home world of the Solta, a race of lizardlike bipeds that have been able to live in peace with Terra's humans ever since the mutual discovery. Together they formed the core of the Union. The atmosphere is filled with Argon matrix nucleonic particles, that are fortunatly not harmful. Humans and Solta are capable of dwelling on similar planets, and ever since the Union there have been Solta and Humans living together.
Neckron V: A small rock-based planet with a hydrogen atmosphere.
The second mining planet in the system. This one is operated by the Solta Mining Guild where as the Neckron III is ran by the Terran Union Mining Company. This mine specializes into the digging and processing of chlorite minerals, of which the planet is very rich. The Solta have developed a secret process that greatly enhances the efficiency of those ores.
Neckron VI: A medium sized rock planet with a Methane Atmosphere.
Home to the elusive but highly intelligent Kilra. The Kilra are expert builders and engineers, but their inability to breathe oxygen has always seperated them from the other race of the Union Race specimens have tried to live amongst the humans in Methane atmosuits but few managed to succeed. Regardless, they are not a race that wishes people to meddle too much, so that is fine. They are part of the Union and loyal, and will perform any task in return for not being meddled with.
Neckron Astroids: A tiny patch of astroids circling around the sun at the edges of the system.
They are mostly chunks of ice, but samples taken there have made clear that the astroids might be suitable for remote mining but no attempts have been made so far
Neckron Storm: A medium sized cloud of ionized dust particles.
This storm creates too much interference on scanners and makes everything inside invisible.
