Martin Grey
A young boy of a far off planet, away from the central worlds.
A young boy, whose parents thought was pretty ordinary, except well, he was a bright lad, who got things rather fast.
The boy, Martin of the Grey Peak, was far from ordinary. A child prodigy, he would have been called on the inner worlds, a very smart lad, way way ahead of all his friends of the same age, and smarter than 50% of all inhabitants of the small world.
Alas, he was never discovered. At the age of 12 he was sent, as most boys of the planets to technical school, there he excelled at all work and graduated in three years with the average being seven years.
He was sponsored by the school to take advanced classes in engineering and electronics, and that too he managed. Finally he followed with only a dozen of his entire planet a course in advanced computer classes.
He graduated as first of the class.
Then something odd happened. An unknown, classified military sponsor showed up and took the boy to the central worlds, where he was allowed to join med school.
Just as naturally as the advanced engineering had come to him, so naturally did the body of many humanoids came to him.
In minimum time he completed his studies, and for many years he was an excellent traumatosurgeon. Until his classified sponsor send word that he was to leave for assignment. Classified.
He packed his bags and took the first transport to the new assignment.
